2. X-Men Legends, Xbox (2004)
You take four X-Men into every mission and swap between them whenever you want, all the way from Magma's first day at the mansion to a war with Magneto and the Brotherhood.
The story and the ambiance are what did it for me.

X-Men Legends (Xbox)
X-Men Legends came out in 2004 and I didn't get to it until early 2006, when it was marked down at Walmart for being old. I worked there then, so the employee discount took it down even further. I had just finished Halo, Halo 2 and Gun before I started it.
You take four X-Men in with you and swap between them whenever you want. I used Wolverine most of the time and switched off him when somebody else worked better for the part I was on. They level up and you put the points into their powers.
I was working overnights back then. I'd get home in the morning and stay up most of the day playing this instead of sleeping. I was through the campaign in about a week.
The story and the ambiance are what did it for me.
The top down view is the one thing I was never a fan of, though it worked.
Insomniac's Wolverine drops on September 15th with some of the worst looking characters I've seen in a Marvel game. This game is from 2004 and Wolverine looks better in it.
I rate X-Men Legends a 4.5 out of 5.
