WHAT I'VE POSTED ABOUT IT ON X

Honest and Unpopular Reviews No. 36 Tetris (Game Boy) Most games have a point where you're finished with them. You beat it, or you've seen everything in it, and that's the end of the time you spend with that game. Tetris never hits that point. I can play it for hours and never get bored of it, put it down, then pick it up the next day and do the whole thing again. I never had a Game Boy growing up. The only time I got to play this version was at a friend's house using his Game Boy. We had Tetris on the NES and that's the one I played the most, and in the late 90s I put a stupid amount of time into an off-brand PC version called Bricklayer. If I remember correctly, it came packaged with Windows 95. Even the knockoff was super amounts of fun. Whatever this game is doing, it survives being copied by people who had nothing to do with making it. I bought a Game Boy Color a few years back and picked up Tetris for it. Some nights I'm on the couch in my game room playing it for a while, thirty some years after the first time I did. There aren't ten games made in the last decade I'll still be doing that with. I rate Tetris a 5 out of 5.
