WHAT I'VE POSTED ABOUT IT ON X

Honest and Unpopular Reviews No. 50 Street Fighter II Turbo (SNES) Everyone who played Street Fighter II as a kid had that one character they picked every single time. Mine was Ryu. I rented Street Fighter II from Blockbuster so many times that it would have been cheaper for my mom to just buy it. This was a game everyone I knew had. Any time we went to a cousin's house or a friend's house, they had Street Fighter II Turbo. I was 10 years old and my parents took us to a get-together at their friends' house. I was so bored. One of the kids asked me if I wanted to play Street Fighter. I asked him which one he had and he said Turbo. I got excited and we played for hours. I still remember that day vividly. Turbo is the original Street Fighter II on steroids. You can play as Balrog, Vega, Sagat and M. Bison now, where before they were just the bosses you had to beat at the end. Once you turn the stars up on the speed setting, it's a completely different game from the original. Everything moves so fast you barely have time to react to what the other guy is doing. Both players can finally pick Ryu now too, so you get Ryu against Ryu at full speed. This is the best Street Fighter ever made and the best fighting game ever made. Nothing released in the 33 years since has knocked it out of the top spot for me, Mortal Kombat II and Tekken 3 included. I rate Street Fighter II Turbo an astounding 5 out of 5.

Best and Worst Games I own: 1993 Best: Street Fighter II Turbo (SNES) Worst: Mario is Missing! (SNES) Not only is Turbo the best Street Fighter ever made, it's also the best fighting game ever made. This is the version where Capcom put it all together on the SNES. You finally got playable bosses and mirror matches at home, and the speed setting turned it into a different game than the one that came out the year before. 1993 is one of the best years in gaming history. Mortal Kombat, Secret of Mana, Star Fox, Jungle Strike all came out that year and Street Fighter II Turbo is better than all of them. One of the worst games not only of 1993, but of all time, is Mario is Missing! You walk around as Luigi asking people geography questions. It has Mario's name on it but this is in no way an actual Mario game. Nintendo put their name on it too, and what you actually got was a school assignment somebody charged full price for. What are your best and worst picks for 1993?

1. Street Fighter II Turbo, SNES (1993) Every fighting game that came after it is working off what this one figured out. Turbo is where it finally had everything, the four bosses playable, mirror matches, and the speed setting cranked until it became a different game. I rented Street Fighter II from Blockbuster so many times it would have been cheaper for my mom to just buy it. I still know Ryu's inputs without thinking about it.
