Impossible matchups No. 26 Metal Gear Solid vs. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild They came out almost 19 years apart, and neither one has anything in common. Which one was the better game?

Best and Worst Games I own: 1998 Best: Metal Gear Solid (PlayStation) Worst: Batman & Robin (PlayStation) 1998 is the year people point at when they argue gaming peaked, usually meaning Ocarina of Time. I'd take Metal Gear Solid over it. Batman & Robin was originally supposed to release alongside the movie in 1997 but the game was nowhere near completion, so it got delayed a year. The delay didn't help as this game still turned out bad. What are your picks for 1998?

Impossible matchups No. 1 Metal Gear Solid vs. Zelda Ocarina of Time Both came out in 1998. Both get called the greatest game ever made. I found Metal Gear Solid on the shelf at Fry's Electronics, bought it because it looked interesting, and it turned into one of the best games I've ever played. Ocarina was fun in 1998 but I don't think it's aged all that well. Which one was the better 1998 game?

Honest and Unpopular Reviews No. 29 Metal Gear Solid (PlayStation) Some of the best games I've ever played, I found by accident. I didn't get around to Metal Gear Solid until 2002. There was a Fry's Electronics right behind the apartments I lived in, and I was going through the PS1 section one day when I came across it. It looked interesting so I bought it. It's easily the best game on the PlayStation. Not any of the Final Fantasy games. Not Gran Turismo. It's MGS. Most shooters are typically run and gun. Doom, Quake, and even GoldenEye, you're blasting away. This one, total opposite. You sneak past the guards. Somebody spots you and the alert goes off and you're hiding in a locker until everything quiets back down. It's all on a military base in Alaska. There's a boss at the end of every section and you don't beat any of them the same way you beat the last one. Ocelot, Sniper Wolf, Vulcan Raven. They're all different. The craziest part of this game was Psycho Mantis reading your memory card. He names the Konami games you've been playing. He tells you to set your controller on the floor and then makes it move with the rumble. You can't touch him until you unplug it and put it in the second port. The codec is running the whole time. Campbell, Mei Ling, Naomi, Otacon. That's where the story comes from and it never stops coming. It's also the best Metal Gear game ever made. Better than Snake Eater. It was so good the training missions got released as their own game. Twenty eight years later and nothing in the stealth genre has beaten it. I'll be hiding in my cardboard box if you need me. I rate Metal Gear Solid an outstanding 5 out of 5.

Metal Gear Solid or Final Fantasy VII? Final Fantasy VII was one of the first games I bought for my PlayStation. All my coworkers at KFC said it was the best game ever made. I bought it because of that. I was so bored. Metal Gear Solid was a game I found browsing the PS games shelf at Fry's Electronics. I thought it looked interesting. Turned out to be one of the best games I ever played. Which one was the better PlayStation game?
