Impossible matchups No. 26
Metal Gear Solid vs. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
They came out almost 19 years apart, and neither one has anything in common.
Which one was the better game?
Overrated Game of the Day!
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch)
A lot of modern games get called a masterpiece before they even release. Breath of the Wild is one of those.
The game genuinely looks great. The world is beautiful and the visuals are stunning. Standing still and admiring the landscape might be the best thing the game does.
The gameplay is slow. Not slow in the way older games are slow where you get used to it after an hour. Breath of the Wild is slow from start to finish.
Then the DLC that was released as its own thing, titled Tears of the Kingdom, showed up. $70 for more of the same thing, or a rearranged version of the same thing, whatever you want to call it. This one lost me after a few hours in. I couldn't do it anymore.
Calling Breath of the Wild overrated isn't hate.
The game is fine for what it is but calling it a masterpiece is an insult to real masterpieces.
6. Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch)
This is the prettiest game on the list and one of the slowest games I've played.
Everything takes forever, and by the time I was climbing another wall in the rain waiting for stamina to come back I stopped caring where I was going.
Beautiful world, and I was bored inside it.
