Captain America and the Avengers

Here's a random game off my shelf. Captain America and the Avengers (SNES) Who's played it and what are your thoughts on it?

Honest and Unpopular Reviews No. 22 Captain America and the Avengers (SNES) Most of the games I played as a kid were never mine, they were Blockbuster's. I grabbed this game off the shelf only because of the box art. It's got one of the best covers for any game ever made. I'd rent the game on a Friday, keep it until Sunday, and the next time I rented it I was starting over from the beginning. I don't think I ever got past the third or fourth level. The game is absurdly hard. I was also 10. I did eventually beat the game many years later. Captain America was always my guy, but I used everybody at some point. Iron Man and Vision fly over stuff that Cap and Hawkeye have to fight through, which is a bigger deal than it sounds like. There's nothing between the fights. No screen where you pick anything or spend anything, you just play until you die. Nobody puts this on a list of great Marvel games, it gets thrown in with the licensed junk from that era, and it's still better than any Marvel game that's come out this decade. I rate this one a 4 out of 5.
